It's an exciting toy and provides a lot of entertainment value. My kids were really excited to play with the BattleBots. Allowing kids to see inside the "big black box" lets them better understand how things work and hopefully inspire them to make and invent themselves. It makes the BattleBots more interesting as a toy, as kids can see how the motors work and in the case of Tombstone see a pulley operating the robot's weapon. HEXBUG made the housing for the "engine" of the robots see-through so you can see the motors, circuit board, and wires. The body of the robots attaches with small magnets so they can "fly" off during battle. It's great you can see "inside" the robots. But be careful of fingers and flying parts during battle! The Bronco and Bite Force robots are push activated but can also be played in the arena as they are dimensionally the same size as the remote controlled robots. These should be able to work with the other robots in the arena - you can have up to 4 remote controlled robots in the arena. Then there's the Tarantula twin pack, which includes two remote controlled robots. They are also available separately without the arena. The BattleBots arena comes with two remote controlled robots, Witch Doctor and Tombstone. It's good to know which are which and what you'll get and how they work together.
